He claims to be a "Jewish Religious Leader" trained by a mystic. The man he claims "ordained" him is actually a secular bookstore owner who thinks Rabbis are a "joke."
Daniel John Moran III (aka Daniel Rumanos, aka Daniel Ben-Yaakov) has constructed a new shield. To deflect from the allegations of stalking, grooming, and having active bench warrants, he has reinvented himself as a "Rabbi." He claims that any criticism of his predatory behavior is "antisemitism" because he is a holy man.
He specifically claims in his recent comments that he:
"Studied with Rabbi Jacob Solomon at Cosmic Visions in Allentown, PA during the 1990s, hence my honorary title."
He thought this lie was safe. He thought nobody would check on the owner of a bookstore from the 90s.
He was wrong. We found the family.
The Investigation
A dedicated member of our community tracked down the family of the owner of "Cosmic Visions." We asked him a simple question: Was your father, Jacob Solomon, a Rabbi?
The response we received (seen in the screenshots above) destroys Daniel Moran’s entire defense.
The Truth (Direct from the Source)
They did not mince words regarding Moran’s claims. Here is what they told us:
The Name was Wrong: "My father's legal name has always been 'Jay', not Jacob. He's never even used the name Jacob in his entire life."
He Was Not a Rabbi: "No. My father was never a jewish rabbi or any kind of rabbi."
He Wasn't Even Religious: "As a matter of fact, he didn't think much of Rabbis except to him Rabbis were a joke. He wasnt religious whatsoever."
The Verdict: "Whoever this guy is, claiming my father was a rabbi who taught him to be a rabbi, is a complete liar."
The "Cosmic" Con and the Logistics Lie
Let’s look at the reality versus Moran’s delusion.
The Fantasy: Daniel claims this was the "only day job he ever had," where he studied under a "Cabalistic Rabbi" named Jacob.
The Reality: First, Jay Solomon is still alive. He is 82 years old. He is not some ancient, mystical ancestor Moran can invent stories about. He is a real person who can refute this nonsense.
Second, the logistics make no sense. We know Daniel Moran does not own a car and never has. He relies on public transit and walking (as seen in Essex). "Cosmic Visions" was in Allentown, Pennsylvania. That is over 150 miles from Baltimore. Without a vehicle, Moran could not have maintained a job there.
It is likely he visited the store a few times as a customer named "Ronnie," bought a book, and then spent the next 30 years fantasizing that he was an apprentice to a Rabbi who didn't exist.
"Daniel Ben-Yaakov" is FAKE
This revelation ruins the "Daniel Ben-Yaakov" persona.
You are not a Rabbi, Daniel. You are not "ordained." You are a man who lied about a bookstore owner to hide the fact that you are a predator. You are stealing valor from a culture you don't belong to.
To the Solomon Family: Thank you for setting the record straight. We are sorry that this predator has dragged your father’s name into his mess, but your truth has helped protect others.
To Daniel: Your "Rebbe" didn't exist. Your title is fake. Your defense is gone. There is no "Rabbi Jacob." There is only Jay, and he is 82 years old and thinks your claims are a joke.
Turn yourself in. The game is up.
